Apr 4 - 30, 2024

Treaty Space Gallery, 1107 Marginal Rd.

Community Collaborative Project

Living Our Languages community project—led by Dr. Joshua Schwab-Cartas, funded by SSHRC—focuses on Indigenous language reclamation through community celebration and education. Through three workshops hosted at the Treaty Space Gallery and Centre for inter-Media Arts and Decolonial Expression (CIMADE), Indigenous participants painted on rawhide hand drums with designs highlighting themes of language revitalization. Stop by to see how participants collaboratively explore the role the arts can play in Indigenous language revitalization.
