The Anna Leonowens welcomes Fall 2025 Gallery Intern Czarina David!

Czarina David is a visual artist working towards her BFA at NSCAD University. She is originally from Manila, Philippines, but has spent over a decade calling Halifax her home. Her passion lies in all print-based media, but she is specifically drawn to lithography and screenprinted works.

Through the Anna Leonowens Gallery, she aims to de-mystify gallery spaces and create opportunities for learning for other students. This internship will help her understand the relationships between galleries, artists, and their audience. Alongside Chris, Czarina is excited to collaborate with the Anna Leonowens staff, NSCAD students, and get to know her community a little better. Her goal after graduation is to continue exploring the wonderful world of print. She is committed to introducing the traditions of printmaking to her community, whether through teaching, curating, or exhibiting as a print-based artist. As one of this semester’s interns, she hopes to gain gallery experience as another way to realize her goals.
