Join us for the opening of the Dame's cloistered cell. Engaging with the historical practice of anchoritic living, religious hermits defined by their confined and displayed meditation, Will Imlay will be putting on a costumed performance piece emulating the seclusion of the Dame Julian of Norwich and her contemporaries. The practices observed by these ascetics occupy a tense and contradictory place in their own time, and not all these tensions have been resolved by time. Come and see.
