MFA Thesis exhibition
Opening reception: 31 October, 5:30 – 7PM
Plasticine is an exploration of the vitality and complexity of plastic and its waste. The exhibition deconstructs how the presence of discarded, washed-up plastic objects from local beaches reveals the relational exchanges across human and synthetic materialities. The viewer is invited to discover plastic garbage metamorphosing during the process of 3D-scanning, photography and installation into mysterious fragile organic and geometric constructed and recreated forms and objects. Through different media, the found objects appear as uncanny, artificial but organic creatures, haunting us and our entanglement with plastic, seeking to transform the way we see, value, and experience the world around us.
