Gaiety
NSCAD Queer Collective

@thenscadqueercollective

Nov 1 - 5, 2022

Gallery 1

Undergraduate group exhibition

Opening reception: 31 October, 5:30 – 7PM

Unfiltered self-expression is an essential part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, as it helps to build connection and hope. Gaiety allows us to gather once more to reinvigorate the queer spirit that's ever-present at NSCAD and to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) as a whole by featuring queer artists working in a variety of media and styles. Queer joy - our Gaiety - challenges the narrative that our experiences are defined by our suffering. We deserve to be recognized instead for our pride. We deserve to celebrate what makes us feel happy, loved, and gay.

Opening reception: Wiebke Schroeder; NSCAD Queer Collective; Aidan McDonagh
