MFA Thesis Exhibition
September is an exhibition that investigates the experience of memory, relationality, and embodiment in the context of an unstable country and the lives driven by cycles of war. The exhibition is an intimate investigation of the El Sabeh’s neighbourhood of the Southern Suburbs of Beirut, following the September–December 2024 Lebanon/Israel war. The installation mapping project, paralleled by smaller archive-based paintings, documents evacuation orders and airstrikes, marking what has been erased. The works are a creation of an archive of historical moments, either referencing the collective or the personal; the artworks are writings of history in the language of visual art.
