Entomology is the scientific study of insects, the environments they inhabit and the relationship they have with other organisms. Diptera, the scientific name given to Flies, are an order of insects that share similar anatomical features, and are the third largest order of insects found on the planet. Widely viewed as a pestilence that are synonymous with disease, death and rot. This disgust is what is fascinating about them as a subject, they are so common yet so eluded. Intimately capturing the Fly using representational art on a large scale, confronting their presence is the primary objective of this show.
