objects die?
Mailey Horner and Amanda Blake

Jul 14 - 18, 2026

Gallery 3

Graduate exhibitor

objects die? is an installation of the insides, outsides, besides, fronts and behinds of textiles, various refuse and collected materials; a quilt. The show creates a quilt room/womb that navigates the viewer through past and potential narrative lines of quilting stitches/veins. In objects die? inheriting a grandmother’s quilt is, in many ways, the same as say, getting a boob job. This show considers that the construct of the interior of the post-colonial, post-capitalist, post-feminist home is reflected in the construct of the exterior of the post-colonial, post-capitalist, post-feminist body.
