"Dear Joannie, Dear Traci, Welcome to Chinatown” is a photographic exhibition rebuilding and reworking Smith’s family archive. The works explore the maternal relations, a town that once was, and a lost history through a two part exhibition: “I Love You, Funny Girl” and “What Lies in Chinatown”. Her original images are combined with those of previous generations, cassette and letter transcriptions, and elements of her own life. This exhibition is dedicated to her mother and late grandmother.
