Warping Rhythm

Gallery 2A
undergraduate exhibitor
Palmer creates observational stories of nature through weaving. Her practice includes woven works, depicting the natural world and emotions connected to earth cycles. Life and death are a common theme throughout and appear through color and pattern.
The pieces tell a story using natural materials like cotton and wool as well as plain weave or complex patterning to symbolize the simplistic yet complex weave structures of the world. The earth is a place where everything is calm and neutral while constantly changing and shifting through chaos.
"When I see the world as weaving," says Palmer, "it helps me accept what I've been given."
