In exploring paintings' power to communicate in terms beyond language, I have been wading through the in-between spaces, the evasive and ambiguous visual language where the unspoken can dance in limbo.
This limbo is a social world where transparencies, hues, and edge qualities can meet and become familiar with one another. They push and play with pictorial spatiality, to build a world of abstraction that allows my marks to be relieved of the pre-determinedness of representational imagery. This world is a land of make-believe where my truths are told through shapes, colours, intersections and overlappings, against interpretation.
