The curators offer, "Through presenting the work of several queer artists engaging with spiritual practice, Transfigured highlights ways in which queer communities and individuals have invented, transformed, and revived ways of knowing and being. This community has found profound success in finding our own answers, sense of security and belonging, idols, mentorship, and mutual care by different means than those prescribed by religious institutions. By assembling a range of work that explores queer forms of spirituality both in resistance and in celebration of faith related tradition, we offer visitors the chance to engage in a multifaceted dialogue surrounding personal experiences of spirituality."
