Danaé Lavallée is an oil painter whose practice is rooted in realism and skewed by curiosity. Her paintings take objects and ideas that toe the line between what is familiar and what is just a little bit off, she has a significant interest in representing figures and visual tricks. Much to her own enjoyment, she has been referring to her style of work with the term “Cheeky Realism”.
