94 Calls to Action
Community collaborative project

Jan 15 - Feb 2, 2024

Treaty Space Gallery, 1107 Marginal Rd.

Treaty Space Gallery and CIMADE Lab have collaborated to create an audio-visual exhibition of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action. In 2023, participants were called upon and invited to read aloud and record a Call to Action. The recordings were then compiled into an audio piece that will be on display at Treaty Space (1107 Marginal Rd.) from January 15th to February 2nd.

The purpose of this exhibition is to remind us of our role as treaty people and to highlight the role that governments, communities and faith groups have in making reparations to Indigenous peoples. The TRC’s Final Report was released seven years ago, but many of the Calls to Action have not yet been implemented. These calls are in place “to redress the legacy of residential schools and advance the process of Canadian reconciliation.” To read all 94 Calls to Action click here.

Add your voice! Record yourself reading one of the Calls to Action and submit to treatyspacegallery@nscad.ca.
