Charlie invites her audience to explore and reflect on storytelling, subliminal messaging and mental health stigma in her show, “In My Own World.” Through large scale oil painting she constructs the figure in mental spaces that visually articulate her emotional experiences in psychosis as well as tales of the world she lives in through painted story telling. There is a world as complex as her own, parallel to ours, it has a lifetime of experiences waiting to be told.
