Moult into a New World

Gallery 1
undergraduate exhibitor
Cassandra uses the moults of dragonfly larva that she found as a child in rural Nova Scotia as the inspiration behind this series of vivid drawings and photographs. In her soft-pastel drawings she creatively interprets how a dragonfly nymph might visually perceive the world using the colours a human can see. By encasing the moults of multiple different dragonfly nymph species in resin Cassandra was able to closely study and photograph them, as well as integrate them throughout the gallery space.
