lightness of being(s)

Apr 5 - 16, 2022

Gallery 1

MFA Exhibitor

lightness of being(s) is an unfolding exploration of complex ecosystems found at the edge of urban Halifax, within the Blue Mountain – Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area. Living next door to this wildlife refuge, Carrie Phillips Kieser traces the seasonal cycle of discovery, etching the delicately balanced worlds of botanicals found in its understories, wetlands and liminal lake edges. The continued revealing of this physical place is evoked through exquisite visual and literary expressions in the form of suspended prints and bound portfolios.
