WORKSHOP: Bead Your Grad Cap

Learn how to bead your graduation cap in this workshop taught by Cailin Gerrard from Millbrook First Nation! This event is open to all graduating Indigenous students from any school. All beading materials will be provided, however, caps will only be provided for NSCAD students. Sign up is required.

Cailin Gerrard is an Indigenous artist and beadworker whose work is deeply rooted in her
Mi'kmaw heritage and guided by the principles of Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing). With a
background in graphic design and a passion for both traditional and contemporary
Indigenous art, she blends vibrant storytelling with intricate craftsmanship. Through her
work, Cailin celebrates Indigenous identity, resilience, and creativity, honouring the teachings
of her ancestors with every piece she creates

Project is funded by Indigenous Youth Roots.

The Anna Leonowens Gallery Systems is a public exhibition space within NSCAD University, presenting professional exhibitions by established artists alongside graduating student exhibitions.
