Please join us Friday 13 October 1 - 2pm at Fountain Campus room D391 for a talk by visiting artist Rafael Goldchain.
Rafael Goldchain is a Jewish Latin-American Canadian photographer. He has Master of Arts, Art History (University of Toronto), an MFA(York University), and a Bachelor of Applied Arts (TMU). Goldchain's photographs have been published in Ann Thomas and John McElhone’s The Extended Moment (National Gallery of Canada), Andrea Kunard’s Photography in Canada 1960-2000 (National Gallery of Canada), and William Ewing’s Face: The New Photographic Portrait (Thames and Hudson). Goldchain’s work is the subject of two books: Nostalgia for an Unknown Land (Lumiere Press) and I Am My Family (Princeton Architectural Press), and of a film entitled Beautifully Broken: The Life and Times of Rafael Goldchain (Willing Mind Productions, 2013).
Goldchain’s work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Museum of Modern Art, NY, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Goldchain retired from Sheridan College in Oakville in 2023.
