Sealskin and Fox Fur Workshop

Wednesday, Jun 26 20244 - 6pm

MSVU Indigenous Student Centre, 5 College Rd

SIGN UP HERE - This event is free of charge and open to Indigenous people of all ages.

Join us for a Fox Fur and Sealskin crafting night led by Inuit artists Christine Gautreau and Inuujaq Fredlund. Supplies and snacks will be provided. MSVU Map building #9

Christine offers: "My name is Christine Gautreau, I am from Nunatsiavut. I learned my skills by trying to reconnect to my culture by immersing myself in cultural materials. I had made jewellery for years but have reached out to other Indigenous artists for guidance and recently began using more natural materials such as sealskin, leather and sinew to complete projects."

Inuujaq Leslie Fredlund is an Inuk artist from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. The former sole proprietor and founder of "Maybe Somewhere" has taken a break from entrepreneurship to study at NSCAD University in Kjipuktuk for her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Inuujaq is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys sewing, beading, sculpture, and jewelry making.

Creating With Community is a Treaty Space Gallery initiative funded by Indigenous Youth Roots.
