Indigenous Foods Workshop

SIGN UP HERE - this event is free of charge and open to Indigenous people of all ages.

Join us for the Indigenous Foods Workshop, a Creating with Community foods workshop with Joshua Schwab-Cartas. Participants will be joining Josh in prepping and cooking tamales, a traditional food in his Zapotec culture. We will also be sharing fiddleheads, pico de gallo, and sorrel juice.

Joshua Schwab-Cartas is a Zapotec scholar whose ongoing research projects focus on language revitalization and community-led capacity building in collaboration with Indigenous communities. 

Creating with Community is a Treaty Space Gallery initiative funded by Indigenous Youth Roots.

The Anna Leonowens Gallery Systems is a public exhibition space within NSCAD University, presenting professional exhibitions by established artists alongside graduating student exhibitions.
