The Anna welcomes Natalie!

The Anna Leonowens is excited to welcome Natalie Laurin to the position of Treaty Education Curatorial Assistant for the Fall 2022 and Winter 2023 semesters. Natalie has been with the Anna for a month now and has been busy planning events and exhibits for the coming academic year!

Natalie (she/her) is a Métis and settler illustrator and interdisciplinary designer, with family roots in the Georgian Bay Métis community. She holds a Bachelor of Design from NSCAD University, where she majored in Interdisciplinary Design and minored in Illustration. A central goal of her work is to create with a respectful, informed, and collaborative approach – especially when designing for communities other than her own. In her own practice, she uses her talents to illustrate books for Indigenous children, hoping to inspire youth to engage in our collective revitalization journey through themes of community and relationship-building. Natalie will be assisting with new programming and events for the Treaty Space Gallery as we work on transforming the space into an inviting, educational environment.
