Marvelous Miscreants

Paintings of masked performers in fanciful costumes hang among strips of suspended tent fabric in this installation. Artist Tabatha Cass describes these painted figures as “the silent souls of an otherworldly circus”. Cass is inspired by her love for circus arts as a meeting place of misfits and found family, reinvention and imagination. Viewers are invited to escape the mundanity of the everyday, to lose themselves in the circus and enter a realm of wonder.
