MFA thesis exhibition
Developing a visual language for the desire to be absorbed into the natural world, this exhibition investigates the expanse of nature, and intersections of what is considered other/human. Fields of tall grass move like a sea of rippling waves, changing with the wind in the same way that a murmuration of birds or a swarm of ants; each action is performed but never rehearsed and never repeated in the same way. Nature, unthinking, unfeeling in the human sense, may still embody something that feels like magic precisely because it flows so effortlessly. Does it feel like magic to the field?
