Per the 1989 Wildlife Act of Nova Scotia, as amended in 2022, "No person, having taken or killed any wildlife, shall allow the carcass, pelt or green hide thereof to be destroyed, wasted, abandoned or spoiled...”
"To Hold and Be Held" is created to honour, bear witness to, and grieve the specimens under the artist’s care.
This exhibition reflects a line of inquiry surrounding empathetic stewardship, ecological use, and our shared responsibility to those with whom we share the land.
