"loophole" is a show about shame. It investigates how shame manifests, as well as the lengths humans go to deny themselves pleasure. This exhibition looks at the relationships between the self and egregious spectacles of violence: boxing, bikini mud wrestling, and pornography. Specifically, Christian frameworks perpetuate shame and assimilation, which consequently repress innate human gratification. loophole integrates these niche aesthetics through oil painting and mixed media works, asking, "Why and how are we internalizing shame?"
