Fairy Doors of Halifax
Nikki Dee Maggio

Feb 14 - 18, 2023

Gallery 2A

Rolloff Beny Scholarship Recipient

Maggio offers: “I encountered my first fairy door when I moved to Halifax in the fall of 2019. The more I walked along the streets of Halifax, the more I noticed colourful little doors situated at the base of trees by the sidewalk. Over the seasons, these doors have become beautifully weathered. This exhibition includes several 2ft. x 3ft. inkjet prints photographed on location in central Halifax. With these environmental portraits, my intention is to preserve the memory of these fairy doors that, over time, may become lost or forgotten.”
