Feminine Fantasy
Mia Hazelwood

@tannis_mia

Jan 14 - 18, 2025

Gallery 2A

undergraduate exhibitor

Exploring the complexity of identity through portrait and figure based paintings, "Feminine Fantasy" turns its gaze away from traditional patriarchal depictions and notions of femininity.

In this exhibition, a new fantasy unfolds - one that exists in a world separate from the confines of stereotypes. Rooted in personal experience, Feminine Fantasy asks the viewer to examine the impact of their gaze and challenge their own preconceived ideas of femininity and feminine identity. By subverting the male gaze, a more diverse, detached, liberated, and powerful depiction of femininity flourishes, allowing a new fantasy to emerge.
