In this exhibition Marie-Soleil Lalonde explores themes of opulence, greed and power. With sculptures and jewelry she invites the viewer to question the political landscape of our time. She concentrates on the ways greed, power and entertainment intertwine, how politics are often turned into performances. Opulence is used as a conduit and through disgust and irony she questions spaces of power, and how they are often spaces of abuse and neglect. She also explores the reality of being a fem-presenting person in today's world, with pieces that are both and ode to womanhood and a critique of the current war on woman which is enacted all around us. Through her almost theatrical work she invites the public to step through her vision of the twisted games the rich and powerful play.
