Gallery 1
undergraduate exhibitor
Lila Gorey McSorley creates large scale sculptural works using silk and cyanotype (sunlight exposure printing) to marry themes of feminism, femininity, and various religious philosophies. About her work, she states, “No matter how you believe it happened, the first act carried out in the universe was the act of creation. In one sense of the word or another, it is what has kept humanity going for millennia. I think there’s a quiet power to knowing that as a woman you can shape the future through the act of creation, and that is sometimes forgotten.”
