MFA thesis exhibition
While enacting a curious and delicate tension between destruction and endurance, J Davison's thesis work considers found, reused, and up-cycled material items in recovered and recovering states as art forms. Through his paintings, sculptures, and installation work, J searches to better understand the intricate mechanisms, interactions, and connections between the human and other-than-human spheres, the material and immaterial realms, the organic and technical domains, and the interplay between place and time. Their deep interest in the relational processes of being, possessing, and becoming infuses the work with a sense of curiosity and intimacy.
