Mar 12 - 16, 2024

Gallery 3

undergraduate exhibitor

Composed of oil paintings and drawings, this graduation exhibition explores themes such as fear, freedom, grief, spirituality and magic inside a queer time and space. Cortney is fascinated by the long and complex histories of painting, and excited by the secret visual languages that have been developed by those left out of painting’s history. They use bright colour palettes, gender ambiguous forms, abstraction, movement and imagined environments to explore various ways to articulate sensation and perception, translated through a queer body.
