"Silt of Sacrum / SOS" showcases documentation of a summer performance by Baily Smith and Hana Nozomi on the mudflats of the Bay of Fundy. The artists engaged the landscape as a collaborator, exploring the relationship between place and self, through play and ritual. Analog film captures of the performance are enlarged and installed alongside Nozomi’s sculptural ephemera and Smith’s painted silk weaving. The exhibition urges viewers to embrace the matter of our natural environment- dirt, silt, and mud.
