MFA thesis exhibition
Arjun Lal offers, "To be a flamingo presents a performance archive of photo documentation and sculptures. Using the artist's body as a base, bright pink latex and rubber body modifications were built and installed to alter the human form into a flamingo hybrid. Wearable iconographies in latex kink communities are often rooted in colonial symbolism. Will this tradition remain?
In the future will there be new forms of embodiment?"
