“Tanks a Lot!” is an exhibition by Alex Pratt depicting tanks that he regards as symbols of the oil and gas industry. These tanks are scattered throughout our environment and provide humans with modern comforts such as heat, hot water, and the ability to grill your food. To him, the tanks are also a constant reminder of our prolonged tie to the oil and gas industry and the damage it continues to do to our planet. This conflicted view is represented in the dimly lit scenes and shadowy objects within the artwork.
