Seed Harvesting and Sites of Difficult Histories Walk
Monday October 2nd, 2023
12–2PM
Begins 12PM at the Dalhousie Pollinator Garden* (details below)
Rain or shine
The group will meet at the Dalhousie Pollinator Garden*, where we will begin our event by harvesting seeds from the flowers there. We will then walk to the Public Gardens*, where we will pause and discuss the difficult colonial history of the site, then continue to the Old Halifax Library* where we will discuss the history of the site before concluding our walk.
Please email natalielaurin@nscad.ca to confirm your interest in participating. The first 20 participants to confirm their attendance will each receive a handmade medicine bag to collect seeds in and a sketchbook to take field notes. Due to limited supply, we ask that you allow others to receive these gifts first if you do not identify as BIPOC. We are happy to share any extras!
Snacks will be provided, please bring your own water and dress for the weather!
