Anna Leonowens Gallery

Join curators and NSCAD Associate Professors Dr. Carla Tautnon and Dr. Leah Decter for the exhibition reception of after this hosted by NSCAD President, Dr. Peggy Shannon this Friday, November 25, 5 - 7 p.m. at the Anna Leonowens Gallery (Galleries 2 and 3).

 

after this explores the activation of critical remembrance relating to histories, stories, and lived experiences in the context of the complex conditions of a white supremacist settler colonial state. Working in a range of media, the artists demonstrate multiple approaches to remembering otherwise.

 

The exhibition, which is part of the Counter-Memory Activism research cluster for Creative Counter-Memorializations: A Symposium/Gathering from November 24 -27,features Emily Davidson (BFA 2009), Letitia Fraser (BFA 2019), Ursula Handleigh (MFA 2017), Megan Kyak-Montieth (BFA 2019), Carrie Allison (MFA 2018) and current student Colleen McIsaac.
