Paper Marigolds Workshop

Tuesday, Oct 1 20245 - 7pm

Treaty Space Gallery, 1887 Granville St

SIGN UP HERE - This event is free of charge and open to people of all ages, with priority given to Indigenous people.

Join us for the first of three workshops part of community collaborative project Xandu: Honouring Our Ancestors. During this paper marigold workshop we'll join in discussion about death, family, and honouring our ancestors while creating flowers to guide the way of our loved ones.

Marigolds, or Cempohualxochitl, are an essential element in the celebration of Día de Muertos. Their vibrant yellow color and fragrant scent, believed to attract the souls of the departed, guide our ancestors to the altar prepared in their honour.
