Treaty Space

Ofrenda Workshop

Tuesday, Oct 15 20245 - 7pm

Treaty Space Gallery, 1887 Granville St

SIGN UP HERE

Join us in collectively assembling and decorating the ofrenda as we prepare to welcome our departed loved ones this Día de Muertos. In this final Xandú workshop, we will explore the rich symbolism of the altar’s elements, and the ways in which we honour our ancestors and loved ones.

You are invited to share your memories, write poetry, or bring items to place on the altar such as: a loved one's favourite candy or soda, a photo, or perhaps a toy...letting them know they are forever in your heart and thoughts.

This workshop is part of the Xandú: Honouring Our Ancestors workshop series, a Land Connects Us project funded by SSHRC.
