The Land on Which You Sleep is Ours: Letter Writing Event
-
Treaty Space Gallery, 1107 Marginal Rd.
The Land on Which You Sleep is Ours Curator Cameron Walker is hosting a letter writing event at Treaty Space Gallery. Join us in addressing letters to government officials expressing concern with the ongoing tent evictions and forceful displacement of unhoused folks in Kjipuktuk.
The Land on Which You Sleep is Ours highlights the disproportionate ways that land appropriation and housing insecurity has affected Indigenous communities and families. Conversations echo throughout Turtle Island reflecting the air of anxiety, concern, and criticality for the ongoing struggle for stable housing in the face of prejudiced development projects. Work displayed from emerging artists, Indigenous makers, and community organizations demonstrates the effects of this crisis, generating ideas and action towards a better future.
