Drum-making Workshop

Wednesday, Jun 19 20243 - 5pm

Treaty Space Gallery, 1107 Marginal Rd.

SIGN UP HERE - this event is free of charge and open to Indigenous people of all ages.

Join us at the Treaty Space Gallery June 19th 3-5pm for a rawhide drum making workshop. Participants will be joining Trevor Gould in making traditional hand drums using deer rawhide and lacing on a wooden frame. Each individual will take home their own drum. Sign up for this event is required.

Trevor is from the Paqtnkek Mi’kmaq Nation. For over 30 years, he has been traditional singer and dancer as well as a theatre playright/performer. More recently, Trevor’s artistic practice has expanded to include filmmaking. He created/directed the award-winning short film, Apajasimik.

Creating with Community is a Treaty Space Gallery initiative funded by Indigenous Youth Roots.
