Review the Calls here

NSCAD's Treaty Space Gallery and the Centre for inter-Media Arts and Decolonial Expression (CiMADE) Lab are seeking participants to read aloud the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to
Action. The reciting of each call will be recorded and compiled into an audio piece that will be exhibited in the Treaty Space Gallery. Its purpose is to remind us of our role as treaty people, and to highlight the role that governments, communities and faith groups have in making reparations to Indigenous peoples.

The TRC's Final Report was released seven years ago, but many of the Calls to Action have not yet been implemented. These calls are in place "to redress the legacy of residential schools and advance the process of Canadian reconciliation." If you would like to engage in this participatory reading, please join us THURSDAY APRIL 6 from 4–6PM at the CiMADE Lab. Or submit a recording here. Multiple people can be recorded reciting the same Call, and you may record more than one.

Please email cimade@nscad.ca with any questions.
