MFA Thesis exhibition
Bouchard offers, “We are leaky vessels, transitory, and beautifully flawed containers. We leak life, and that’s okay.”
Leaky Vessels is a ceramic celebration of the value of our existence highlighted by life’s finitude. As Franz Kafka wrote: “The meaning of life is that it ends.”
Questioning our death-phobic culture anchored in morbid taboo and bias, Bouchard invites you to actively think about your own mortality from a perspective of openness, death literacy, compassion, and resilience: .
“Ultimately, we may not be able to elude death, but death need not be a grim affair.”
