UPDATE: For the Love of Sandra Alfoldy, Online Showcase

For the Love of Sandra Alfoldy
Online Showcase, 2020 – 2021

This online showcase celebrates the vibrant life and work of preeminent Canadian Craft Historian Dr. Sandra Alfoldy. Sandra’s research pioneered the discourse around Canadian studio craft, her curatorial work presented craft in a new and critical light, and her teaching inspired a committed passion for craft in a generation of students. “For the Love of Sandra Alfoldy” is a project that gathers craft, artwork, and stories from Sandra’s friends (her colleagues, collaborators, and students) in order to celebrate Sandra’s life, her work, and her extraordinary impact on her communities. This online showcase will roll out over the course of 2020-2021, leading up to a physical exhibition at the Anna Leonowens gallery in Fall 2021. Look for a new work every Saturday on the Anna Leonowens Instagram account starting Saturday, December 5th. Works in the showcase will be identified by the lilac border, Sandra’s favourite colour.

Learn more about Sandra through the work and shared anecdotes of friends, follow the hastag #fortheloveofsandraalfoldy and feel welcome to contribute to the project here
