Water Writing
Autumn Ducharme, undergraduate exhibitor

Ducharme uses handmade inks and pen on tracing paper to follow rivers back to the bottom of a great lake near her home in southwestern Ontario. Through map making and materials of varying degrees of permanency, she explores human impact on fresh water.

Three emerging artists share the works that express their conceptual stance within their practice. Suyun Jiang is a sculptor who communicates her vision through a carefully balanced mixture of mediums including bronze and wire. Fiona McInerney combines oil and acrylic paint to express her relationship with colour and overlying pathways. kimmerT uses oil paint on stretched canvas to study relationship between colour, light and shadow.

Each artist is on a separate yet parallel journey of self-expression through visual stimulation. These works are given to the viewer as a token of countless hours of dedication to their journey as visual artists.

Maggie is a four-part photography exploration challenging the ideas of portraits. You will see four large scale black and white prints of her (Maggie) staring back at you. My goal was to create visually interesting portraits within the ideas of depth and following the uncanny. I wanted to create a sense of beautiful but also uncomfortable portraits.
